Medical assistants and medical office professionals are expected to have good job prospects for the foreseeable future. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical office jobs are slated to grow 29 percent by the year 2026, much faster than the average for any other occupation.
The demand for medical assistants is high and growing every day. Medical assistants play a vital role in the healthcare industry and these roles are expanding in a variety of ways.
As the baby-boomer generation ages and the demand for medical services intensifies, physicians will hire more assistants to perform routine administrative and clinical duties, so they are able to see more patients. In addition, hospitals are now opening up new satellite clinics and are in desperate need of more medical office professionals.

More people are in need of preventive medical services, which are typically provided by physicians. As a result, physician’s offices—where medical assistants usually work—will hire more assistants to serve these patient
Medical assisting also has a number of career advancement opportunities. With sufficient experience, medical assistants can move into leadership roles. Some may also choose to obtain further education and advance into other medical professions like registered nurse, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner.

That’s when a friend told me about Prospect College. At first I was skeptical because I was not interested in paying more money after failing my first attempt at technical school. But after learning more about resources Prospect College offers I decided to sign up.
Prospect College helped me earn my high school diploma while also completing the Medical Assistant Program. The teachers that I had were awesome. They were very serious about their teaching, and were always available to answer my questions. Before I knew it I had passed my certification exam and was hired at my externship site. Now I know I can accomplish everything I want, but without Prospect College I would not be where I am.

In 2017, I attended prospect college. I had no prior medical knowledge. In fact, I worked at a fast-food restaurant and I was a high school drop out. Prospect allowed me to earn my high school diploma for free! Thanks to this program, I went on to earn my degree, Bachelor’s of Science in Medical Administration! Oh, and I am not done yet! I already applied for the PA program!
After graduating from Prospect College I was hired by my externship site, teaching me that hard work pays off when you really want to achieve something in life. But having great faculty and staff at Prospect College helped a lot.
Prospect College prepared me for my current job as a Medical Assistant. Teachers were always eager to answer questions and even offered study groups for those interested. At times, I wanted to give up because I feared drawing blood and giving injections, but the staff didn’t let me. They pushed me to accomplish things I never thought I could do. I was even hired at my externship site. Thank you Prospect!
